Back when I still lived in California, I heard from a Big Dawg named Finnegan, who lives in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Three Legged Bone Cancer Dog SurvivorsFinny is quite a big guy. He’s an Irish Wolfhound that’s towers way, way over me. Just when I thought I was a big boy, he made me look at small as a weiner dog. But the reason he’s so cool, is he is a tripawd like me. And he is absolute proof of the miracles that can happen even if a dog gets cancer — he is now fifteen months post-surgery! Yeay!

Bone Cancer, Battle Scars and Bear the Big Brave Tripawd

Last November when I had my surgery, my Mom was a little upset that my Dad posted my surgery photos on Tripawds. He wanted everyone to see my battle scar because he thought it was cool. My Mom wasn’t amused.

Not too long ago, I got an email from Bear, a big ol’ dawg that got the bad osteosarcoma news that he’d be a tripod dog soon. His people were worried, but his Dad said

“Both my wife and I were very happy that we had seen Jerry’s pics before Bear had his surgery. It would have been much more traumatic to have seen it for the first time when we went to pick him up.”

Punxsy Jerry

Gobbler's Knob, Punxsutawney PennsylvaniaWhat a relaxing time I’m having while hangin’ with my Auntie Emi in Pennsylvania this week. She lives near Punxsutawney, that town that gets all crazy over this big rodent named Phil every February 2nd. You know, Groundhog Day. Well, I went to Gobbler’s Knob to try to sniff Phil out, but he was busy munching down on some crab apples or something because he was nowhere to be found.
